"Why Cemeteries are a Surprising Source of Life" in Nat Geo

A new species of beetle was recently discovered in the heart of Brooklyn. The beetle was found in Green-Wood Cemetery, 478 acres of biodiverse greenspace. In this article, published by National Geographic, I explain how the beetle was discovered, what it may mean for our urban forests, and, crucially, how the forgotten horticultural history of cemeteries makes graveyards a perfect place to discover new life.
